Special Deliveries

Lizzy and I can’t wait to open our new computer, but we promised Andrew we’d wait until he got home from work. We’ve been hanging out around the apartment waiting for that delivery, as well as my new running shoes, and the free iPod that was shipped separately. The shoes and computer have arrived. Not the iPod.

Here’s what we’ve been up to (Lizzy just lays on the kitchen floor or sits on top of the trash can watching me. She’s an amazing cat, but unfortunately, doesn’t cook.):

* Made corn chowder for dinner tomorrow night. It’s cool in the apartment this morning, so I decided to get some cooking done for the week while it wasn’t sweltering in here.

* Peeled and sliced the poblanos that I roasted yesterday. I’m going to make refritos later for a veggie taco dinner.

* Began straining some plain yogurt to make frozen yogurt for dessert tonight. It’s amazing how much liquid gets strained from yogurt when you let it sit over a sieve lined with cheese cloth!

I think I’ll be posting again later today. I’ve got a lot to blog about, actually, but for now, I need to open that computer. Just spoke with Andrew and I convinced him that he should “let” me check to see if Creative Suite is already installed (we got that with my student discount. Turns out that grad school is good for something!).
